On the evening of December 16, 2022, super typhoon Odette, packing winds up to 260kph, made landfall on the island of Cebu. The morning after, the people of Cebu woke up to an island in disarray. Buildings and homes were significantly damaged, roads were unpassable due to typhoon debris, power lines were down, and shortage of water supply.
Being a company that traces its roots from Cebu, Dakay Construction & Development Corporation (DCDC) extended its helping hand to its fellow Cebuanos. In the days following the typhoon, payloaders, mobile cranes, and dump trucks were deployed to help in clearing the typhoon debris on the roads.
To date, DCDC has worked closely with 4 barangays – 3 in Cebu City and 1 in Lapu-Lapu City in the clearing of roads. Also, DCDC has assisted Visayan Electric Co. (VECO) in erecting downed posts and opened its doors to its neighbors to offer free non-potable water.
DCDC would also like to commend its very own Dedicated Champs who showed up to work despite these difficult times, so we can help our very own community. Without them, these things would not have been possible.
