DCDC CEO Pericles Dakay, PHD led the groundbreaking of the company’s sprawling facility, which covers 25,000 square meters, in Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City last March 19, which is also the feast of Saint Joseph, known as the patron saint of workers and laborers.
The facility, which will be planted with hundreds of trees and has a 7,000 cubic meter pond, will house the company’s Equipment Hospital and Motorpool office, Formworks Fabrication and Warehousing, Fabrication Shop, Materials Recovery Facility and the company headquarters.
Aside from being the company headquarters, Pericles Dakay, PHD wants to make the facility into an eco park, planted with trees and various foliage to provide the employees with an environmentally sound area. A commercial building is also being planned for the facility, which has ample room for expansion. The 25,000 square meter facility has ample room for expansion as DCDC is continually pursuing to purchase adjacent properties.
The area already has huge Acacia trees and other foliage that were balled out from the various DCDC construction sites, which is part of DCDC’s environment protection for their Environmental Management System Implementation (ISO 14001:2015).
During the ground breaking, seven additional trees were planted to represent the seven DCDC departments.
